In the winter of 2019, a life was tragically cut short on a street in Buffalo, New York. On the afternoon of December 20th, 22-year-old Vincent Cramer was shot and killed on Floss Avenue, near Genesee Street. Emergency services responded to the scene, but Cramer was declared dead from his injuries there. The incident marked another life lost to gun violence in the city.
The investigation into the death of the young man, a male, led Buffalo Police to a suspect.
In March of the following year, Tony Golden, then 20 years old, was arrested and charged with second-degree murder in connection with the fatal shooting. Authorities alleged that Golden was the individual who shot and killed Cramer. Following his arrest, Golden was held without bail.
Ultimately, the case did not proceed to a full trial. In December 2021, Tony Golden pleaded guilty to a lesser charge of manslaughter in the first degree. His plea admitted that he had intentionally shot Vincent Cramer multiple times with an illegal firearm. As a result of his guilty plea, Golden faced a maximum of 25 years in prison. He was scheduled for sentencing in late January of the following year and remained held without bail.
