Richard Reed, aged 35, was tragically shot and killed on January 7, 2024, in the lobby of a Farragut Houses building on Sands Street near Navy Street in Downtown Brooklyn, New York. The incident occurred around 10 p.m., and Reed was found with multiple gunshot wounds to the chest. Despite being rushed to New York-Presbyterian Brooklyn Methodist Hospital, he was pronounced dead upon arrival. Reed lived in a nearby building within the same housing complex.
