In the late afternoon of September 21, 2020, a sense of normalcy was shattered in Poughkeepsie, New York, by a brazen act of violence that claimed the life of 15-year-old Jalani Jones. The Poughkeepsie High School student was near the intersection of Main and Clinton streets when a person, clad in a dark hooded jacket, a face mask, green pants, and black shoes, approached and fatally shot him in the head.
