On a cold February night in the Bronx, the life of 28-year-old Anthony Castillo was cut short by gunfire. The fatal encounter occurred on Monday, February 22, 2021, at approximately 10:55 p.m. in front of 2085 Morris Avenue in the Mount Hope section of the borough. Responding to a 911 call about a man shot, police officers arrived to find Castillo lying on the ground, unconscious and unresponsive, with a gunshot wound to his torso.
