On the night of April 22, 2025, in the Mott Haven section of the Bronx, 35-year-old John Medina was caught in a burst of gunfire that would ultimately claim his life. The shooting occurred at approximately 10:30 p.m. near the intersection of Bruckner Boulevard and East 136th Street. Medina, a male resident of the Bronx, sustained multiple gunshot wounds to his torso. A second man, aged 42, was also struck by the gunfire, suffering a wound to the groin.
