In the early morning hours of March 7, 2021, a burst of gunfire shattered the quiet outside a catering hall in the Cypress Hills neighborhood of Brooklyn, New York. When the violence subsided, 28-year-old Stephanie Munoz lay wounded, having been shot in the abdomen. She was rushed to Jamaica Hospital but ultimately succumbed to her injuries. Another individual, a 26-year-old man, was also shot and wounded in the torso but survived.
