In the fall of 2016, a promising young life was tragically cut short on the streets of New Orleans. Robert Michael Atkins, a 21-year-old African-American male, was a beloved son and a dedicated member of his church community. Known for his passion for art and football, he was described by his mother as 'everything you wanted in a kid.' At the time of his death, he was working an overnight security job.
