In the Bedford-Stuyvesant neighborhood of Brooklyn, a 42-year-old man named Brandon Washington was fatally shot on May 14, 2021. He was riding his recently purchased motorized scooter near the intersection of Marcus Garvey Boulevard and Halsey Street at approximately 6 p.m. when the incident occurred. Washington suffered multiple gunshot wounds, including one to the head, and was transported to Interfaith Medical Center, where he was pronounced dead.
