In the early hours of a Sunday morning in Rochester, New York, the life of Ernest Wood, a 31-year-old Black male, was tragically cut short. On August 29, 2021, at approximately 2 a.m., Wood was in a parking lot on Monroe Avenue when gunfire erupted. He sustained gunshot wounds and was quickly transported to a nearby hospital for medical attention. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Wood succumbed to his injuries and was pronounced dead shortly after his arrival.
