On an autumn evening in Staten Island, New York, a family dinner turned into a scene of unimaginable tragedy. Inside their Burbank Avenue home in the New Dorp section, a dispute erupted between 18-year-old Adnan Pelinkovic and his parents. His mother, 51-year-old Minire Pelinkovic, a woman described by neighbors as a kind and gentle soul, was shot.
