On November 11, 2021, the Rochester Police Department responded to multiple 911 calls reporting gunshots at an apartment building on Chestnut Street in Rochester, NY. Upon arrival, officers discovered the bodies of 22-year-old Tywan Harper and 19-year-old Malakai Smith. Tywan Harper was found shot and beaten to death inside a stairwell, while Malakai Smith had been shot to death.
