On a cold November day in Rochester, New York, the lives of two young men were violently cut short. On November 11, 2021, the Rochester Police Department responded to multiple 911 calls reporting the sound of gunshots from an apartment building on Chestnut Street. Inside, they made a grim discovery. In a stairwell, officers found 22-year-old Tywan Harper, who had been both shot and beaten to death. Elsewhere in the building, they located 19-year-old Malakai Smith, who had also been fatally shot. ...
