In the fall of 2021, a dispute over a food order at a fast-food restaurant in Albany, New York, tragically escalated, ending the life of 36-year-old Andrew Miller. The male victim was fatally shot on November 15, 2021, outside of a combination KFC/Taco Bell located on Delaware Avenue.
The incident unfolded following a disagreement that began inside the restaurant and continued outside. It was there that Andrew Miller was shot.
He was a stay-at-home father who was remembered for his love for his family, and for the joy he found in singing and dancing with his children.
In the wake of the shooting, an investigation led by the Albany Police Department pointed to a 19-year-old employee of the restaurant, Ahliek Leonard. On December 13, 2021, authorities located and apprehended Leonard inside a residence on First Street. He was subsequently charged with murder and criminal possession of a weapon in connection with Miller's death.
During the arrest of Leonard, another male, aged 21, was also found inside the home and was taken into custody after a loaded. 357 magnum revolver was discovered. He was charged with criminal possession of a weapon. Following his arraignment, Leonard was sent to the Albany County jail to await further legal proceedings.
