In the early hours of a late November morning in 2021, the life of 25-year-old Jorge Martinez, a Hispanic man from Manhattan, was tragically cut short. On November 26, at approximately 1:40 a.m., Martinez was fatally shot in the chest during a confrontation in the Washington Heights neighborhood. The incident unfolded on West 177th Street and Wadsworth Avenue, leaving a family to grapple with a sudden and violent loss. Martinez was a father to four children with another on the way.
