In the early summer of 2022, the life of 16-year-old Zahira Smith was tragically cut short by gunfire in Rochester, New York. On the night of Saturday, June 4th, Zahira was attending a friend's sweet sixteen birthday party on Emerson Street. She had pleaded with her mother to be allowed to go, eager to celebrate with her friends.
