On April 18, 2017, Sharon Pulley, a 60-year-old retired teacher from New Orleans, was tragically killed in a triple shooting in the Gentilly neighborhood. The incident occurred in the 2200 block of Athis Street around 9:17 p.m. Sharon and her niece, Nicole Pulley, were found on the front porch of a home, both victims of gunfire, while Sharon's fiancé, Thomas Brumfield, was discovered inside the house also suffering from gunshot wounds.
