In the summer of 2017, the life of 37-year-old Calvin Curtis was cut short by an act of gun violence in the Algiers neighborhood of New Orleans. On the evening of Saturday, July 29th, shots rang out, and when the chaos subsided, Curtis had sustained a fatal wound.

Emergency services responded to the scene, but despite their efforts, Calvin Curtis succumbed to his injuries. The Orleans Parish Coroner's office would later identify him as the victim of the deadly shooting. In the immediate a ...
