In the spring of 2017, the life of 20-year-old Kelvin T. Jones Jr. was cut short by gunfire in the 7th Ward of New Orleans. On the evening of Wednesday, May 31, 2017, Jones and another young man, 17-year-old Keenon Williams, were victims of a fatal double shooting. The incident added to the grim statistics of gun violence in the city and left a community searching for answers.
