In the quiet of a Saturday evening in Oxon Hill, Maryland, the life of 29-year-old Kaya Dejuna Wilson was tragically cut short. On November 19, 2011, police responded to a report of a shooting at an apartment on Marcy Avenue. Inside, they discovered Wilson suffering from gunshot wounds. Despite the immediate response, she was pronounced dead at the scene.
