On a tragic Friday the 13th in November of 2015, the life of 25-year-old Shaneka Walters was cut short in a violent encounter in an Oxon Hill, Maryland apartment. Shaneka, a female, was found deceased alongside her 40-year-old mother, Lakeysha Walters, and a 45-year-old family friend, James Gibson. All three victims had been fatally shot. The scene of the crime was an apartment in the 1400 block of Southern Avenue. A fourth individual was also shot during the incident but survived.
