In the early hours of a January morning in 2013, the life of 21-year-old Brandon Rashad Catlett was tragically cut short. On January 21st, at approximately 3:00 a.m., police responded to a call about a man down in the 3300 block of Walters Lane in Forestville, Maryland. Upon arrival, they discovered Catlett suffering from an apparent gunshot wound. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
The investigation into the death of the Forestville resident quickly progressed.
Within a day, Prince George's County Police homicide detectives identified a suspect and obtained an arrest warrant for 22-year-old Tairon Dominique Dingle of Capitol Heights. Dingle was located in the custody of the Metropolitan Police Department, awaiting extradition to Prince George's County to face charges for his alleged involvement in Catlett's death.
Tairon Dominique Dingle was charged with first-degree murder and other related offenses. In 2014, he pleaded guilty to second-degree murder, use of a handgun in the commission of a felony or crime of violence, and robbery with a dangerous weapon. For the murder conviction, the court sentenced him to 30 years of imprisonment, with all but 20 years suspended. He received a consecutive sentence of 20 years for the handgun charge and another consecutive 20 years, with all but 5 years suspended, for the robbery.
