Megan Elizabeth Scherer, a 12-year-old girl from Portageville, Missouri, tragically lost her life on March 28, 1998. Megan and her mother, Sherri Scherer, were found dead in their home by Tony Scherer, Sherri's husband, and their son, Steven. Sherri, who was 38 at the time, was discovered lying face down, bound, and gagged, having been shot in the back of the head. Megan was also shot and had been sexually assaulted.
