Rhonda Forrester-James was gravely wounded late on the night of May 17, 2025, when deputies and police were called to a home on West 8th Street in Portageville, Missouri. According to the New Madrid County Sheriff’s Office, officers determined that she had been shot by her husband, William James, 58, who then turned the gun on himself and was pronounced dead at the scene.
