David Esequel Avelar, a 20-year-old resident of Hillcrest Heights, Maryland, tragically lost his life on February 24, 2013, in College Park, Maryland. The incident occurred in the early hours of the morning, around 4 a.m., when Avelar was found suffering from a gunshot wound in the 9100 block of Baltimore Avenue. He was quickly transported to a local hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
