In the early morning hours of October 5, 2014, the life of 28-year-old Ashley Cornish, a Black female from Cambridge, Maryland, was tragically cut short. She was outside the Dorchester Elks Lodge 223, where a private party was taking place, when gunfire erupted. Cornish was struck by a stray bullet and was pronounced dead at the scene.
