John "Skillet" Ulmschneider, a 37-year-old firefighter from Prince George's County, Maryland, tragically lost his life on April 15, 2016, while responding to a welfare check in Temple Hills, MD. Ulmschneider, along with volunteer firefighter Kevin Swain, entered the home of Darrell Lumpkin after receiving a call from Lumpkin's brother, who was concerned about a possible medical emergency.
