In the early hours of a Sunday morning, the quiet of a Temple Hills, Maryland parking lot was broken by the sound of gunfire, leaving a family grieving and a community searching for answers. On June 5, 2016, 48-year-old Edward Gregory Payne, a male resident of Northeast Washington D.C., was found shot to death in the 4800 block of Stamp Road.
