Travonn Barnett, a 23-year-old former high school basketball state champion and young father, was tragically shot and killed in Northeast Baltimore on June 14, 2016. Barnett, who had aspirations of becoming a private investigator, was found by police around 3:20 a.m. at the intersection of Gorsuch and Kirk avenues, suffering from a critical gunshot wound to the chest. Despite being rushed to Johns Hopkins Hospital and undergoing surgery, Barnett succumbed to his injuries nine hours later.
