In the cool evening of November 2, 2016, the life of 23-year-old Antjuan Tyrek Dantignac, a Black male from Capitol Heights, Maryland, was tragically cut short. Around 9:30 p.m., in the 4100 block of Byers Street, police responded to a call and found Dantignac suffering from a gunshot wound. He was quickly transported to a local hospital, but his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
