In Capitol Heights, Maryland, on the evening of April 17, 2021, the life of 13-year-old King Douglas was tragically cut short. The young Black male was with friends at a shopping center on Ritchie Station Court when a dispute between two groups of juveniles escalated into violence. It was a Saturday night, and what began as a social gathering outside a Dave & Buster's descended into chaos.
