On a Saturday afternoon in Baltimore, Maryland, 37-year-old Derrick Hickman, a Black male, was fatally shot on November 5, 2016. The incident occurred in the 2800 block of Keyworth Avenue, where Hickman was sitting on a porch with other people. The attack was not random; police determined that it was a targeted event. Hickman was transported to Sinai Hospital, where he succumbed to a gunshot wound to the chest.
