In January of 2017, a 49-year-old Caucasian woman named Dawn Longo Rowe was found deceased in her Parkton, Maryland home in a case that authorities would ultimately deem a murder-suicide. Concern first arose when Rowe, a dedicated professional, uncharacteristically failed to show up for her job for over a week. Her worried co-workers, unable to reach her by phone, eventually contacted the police to request a welfare check at her residence on Dairy Road.
Upon their arrival at the home on
January 23, 2017, Baltimore County Police officers made a grim discovery. Inside, they found both Dawn Longo Rowe and her 56-year-old husband, Lyttelton Wadell Rowe, deceased. Both individuals had sustained fatal gunshot wounds and were located in the same room of the house. Investigators found no signs of a forced entry into the residence or any immediate indications of a struggle, leading them to quickly focus on the theory of a domestic incident.
The investigation conducted by the Baltimore County Police Homicide Unit concluded that Lyttelton Wadell Rowe was the sole suspect in his wife's death. Detectives believe that he shot and killed Dawn before turning the gun on himself. Authorities reported that there was no known history of domestic disputes or previous police calls to the couple's home. The case was not pursued with any further legal action and is considered closed. No other suspects were identified, and no arrests were made in connection with the deaths.
