In the spring of 2017, the life of Tony Lamont Tingle Jr., a 31-year-old Black man, was tragically cut short in Baltimore, Maryland. On the evening of May 6th, Tingle was inside a house located in the 1300 block of North Stricker Street in the Sandtown-Winchester neighborhood when violence erupted. He was fatally shot in the chest and later passed away at the University of Maryland Trauma Center.
The investigation into Tingle's death led Baltimore police to identify two suspects.
A few days after the shooting, authorities arrested 26-year-old Marcus Joyner, who was described as a repeat offender. He was subsequently charged with first-degree murder in connection with Tingle's death. Police believe that Joyner entered the house and shot Tingle.
Further investigation led to a second arrest in the case. Courtney Roy, a 25-year-old woman, was apprehended on the Eastern Shore. She was also charged with first-degree murder. While authorities charged both Joyner and Roy in the killing, the specific details of their alleged roles in the tragic event have not been extensively publicized. The arrests, however, marked a significant step in the legal proceedings following the untimely death of Tony Tingle.
