A lingering tragedy that began with a burst of violence in 2016 came to a somber conclusion years later, leaving a Baltimore family grieving and a case officially declared a homicide. Dion Williams, a 44-year-old Black male, succumbed to complications from gunshot wounds on October 23, 2021, more than five years after he was shot. His death, however, was not officially classified as a homicide until March 21, 2023, by the Medical Examiner's office.
