Tragically, Dominic's close friend, 15-year-old Anthony Tarbert, was also killed that same night in what was a particularly violent period for the city.
Dominic, known affectionately as 'Nick,' was a rising sophomore at Edmondson Westside Skill Center, where he was studying auto mechanics. Remembered as a well-mannered and caring young man, he was a member of the Junior National Honor Society in middle school and played on the basketball team. His sudden death left his family and the community heartbroken and searching for answers. Vigils were held to honor the memories of both Dominic and Anthony, with community members coming together to mourn the loss of two young lives and to call for an end to the senseless violence plaguing their streets.
