In the early evening of May 24, 2017, the life of 24-year-old Kyle Jovan Fulton was tragically cut short in Windsor Mill, Maryland. A passerby discovered the young man unconscious on a sidewalk near the intersection of Liberty Road and Liberty Place and immediately alerted the authorities. When Baltimore County police arrived, they found that Fulton had sustained gunshot wounds.
He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but his injuries proved to be fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
The initial phase of the investigation into the death of the male victim offered few leads, leaving a community searching for answers. Detectives with the Baltimore County Police Department worked to piece together the events that led to the fatal shooting. A significant development in the case came when investigators noticed parallels between Fulton's murder and a double homicide that occurred less than a month later. On June 17, 2017, two other individuals were found deceased at a Motel 6 in the neighboring community of Woodlawn.
Through careful examination of evidence, including surveillance footage from the areas of both crime scenes, authorities were able to connect the two incidents. This critical link led them to identify two suspects, a man and a woman from Reisterstown. The pair were subsequently arrested and faced multiple charges, including three counts of first-degree murder for the deaths of Kyle Jovan Fulton and the two victims in the Woodlawn case. Following their arrest, the two individuals were held without bail at the Baltimore County Detention Center as they awaited legal proceedings.
