In the late afternoon of October 4, 2017, a quiet street in Brooklyn Park, Maryland, became the scene of a grim discovery. Emergency services responded to reports of a car crash on Patrick Henry Drive, where they found a silver vehicle engulfed in flames. The car had crashed through a fence and into a garage. After extinguishing the fire, responders found the bodies of a man and a woman inside the car.
The man in the driver's seat was later identified as 34-year-old Darrell Antonio Blowe of Dundalk.
The initial crash scene quickly turned into a homicide investigation. Autopsies revealed that both Darrell Antonio Blowe and the female passenger, 44-year-old Kesa Kibibi Baker of Baltimore, had been shot multiple times. Investigators determined that they were victims of a double homicide. The case proved difficult for law enforcement, and they sought help from the public to piece together the events that led to the two deaths.
In an effort to generate new leads, the Anne Arundel County Police Department announced a $10,000 reward for information that would lead to an arrest and conviction in the murders of Blowe and Baker. Despite interviewing several witnesses and pursuing active leads in the initial stages of the investigation, law enforcement has not publicly identified any suspects or made any arrests in the case. The community was urged to come forward with any information, with the option to remain anonymous, to help bring closure to the families of the victims.
