In the early morning hours of January 11, 2018, the life of 24-year-old Kabreya Coleman, a Black female, was tragically cut short. Gunfire erupted at approximately 1 a.m. on the 200 block of North Hilton Street in Southwest Baltimore, the very block where Coleman resided. Struck by the bullets, she was rushed to the University of Maryland Shock Trauma Center. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, Coleman succumbed to her injuries, becoming the first woman to be killed in Baltimore in 2018.
