The circumstances surrounding his death were initially unclear, prompting an investigation by local law enforcement agencies. On the evening of April 5, 2018, at approximately 7:14 PM, members of the Allegany County Sheriff's Office, with assistance from the Maryland State Police and the Maryland Natural Resources Police, responded to the scene.
