On a violent Saturday night in Baltimore, 22-year-old Marques Lee Patterson, a Black male, tragically lost his life. The date was April 14, 2018, and just before 11:30 PM, the sound of gunfire erupted. Patterson sought refuge from the sudden violence, running towards a home for cover. In a cruel twist of fate, both he and a 65-year-old woman named Pinky Louise Ruffin were struck by bullets in the chaotic moments that followed.
