In the quiet community of Spencerville, Maryland, the life of 53-year-old Bonny Jean Dibble was tragically cut short in what authorities have described as a domestic-related murder-suicide. On the evening of Saturday, September 29, 2018, Montgomery County Police were called to her home in the 15100 block of Peach Orchard Road, where they discovered a grim scene. Dibble and a man, identified as 56-year-old Stuart Michael Shamberger, were both found deceased from apparent gunshot wounds.
Investigators determined that Dibble and Shamberger were in a relationship and lived together at the residence where their bodies were found. A firearm was recovered at the scene, and while the investigation into the specific motive was ongoing, police stated they were treating the case as a murder-suicide. The facts and circumstances surrounding the shootings remained under investigation by the Montgomery County Police - Major Crimes Division. There were no arrests to be made as the suspected shooter, Shamberger, was also deceased.
