In the quiet neighborhood of Temple Hills, Maryland, a domestic dispute tragically escalated, leading to the death of 67-year-old Sandra Watson of Saint Pauls, North Carolina. On the morning of September 4, 2022, Prince George's County police officers were dispatched to a residence on the 5300 block of Frazier Terrace around 11:15 a.m. after receiving a report of a shooting.
Upon their arrival, they discovered Watson inside the home, suffering from bodily trauma.
Emergency services transported Watson to a nearby hospital for medical attention. Despite the efforts of medical personnel, she ultimately succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced dead. The investigation into the circumstances surrounding the shooting quickly pointed to a domestic conflict as the motive.
Authorities identified 78-year-old Booker Wilkins, a resident of Temple Hills and the boyfriend of the victim, as the suspected shooter. The preliminary findings of the investigation suggested that Wilkins shot Watson during a dispute. He was subsequently arrested and charged with second-degree murder along with other related offenses. Following his arrest, Booker Wilkins was taken into the custody of the Department of Corrections, where he was held on a no-bond status.
