In the Belair-Edison neighborhood of Baltimore, Maryland, a community grappling with crime and violence was striving for change. Residents were taking matters into their own hands, organizing clean-ups and events to foster a stronger sense of unity. However, on October 3, 2018, the very streets they sought to improve became a scene of tragedy. On that day, 18-year-old Andrew Omar Allen, a male, was fatally shot on Cardenas Avenue.
