Jonathan Contreras, a 23-year-old resident of Bowie, Maryland, tragically lost his life on January 30, 2019, in Bladensburg, Maryland. The incident occurred in the 5000 block of 57th Avenue, where police responded to a call around 5:05 p.m. Upon arrival, officers discovered two men with gunshot wounds: Jonathan Contreras and 24-year-old Varney Batener Jr. of Hyattsville. Both men were transported to a hospital but succumbed to their injuries shortly after.
