On a summer afternoon in Bladensburg, Maryland, a young life was tragically cut short in what appeared to be a senseless act of violence. Seventeen-year-old Bryan Alvarado-Esquivel was fatally shot on June 18, 2018, in a park in the 5300 block of Varnum Street. The teenager was discovered outside, suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a local hospital where he was pronounced dead. The male victim was a student at Bladensburg High School.
