In the early hours of Easter Sunday, April 21, 2019, the quiet of a neighborhood in Kettering, Maryland, was shattered by the sound of gunfire. Responding to a report of a shooting at approximately 12:20 a.m., Prince George's County police officers arrived at the 100 block of Kylie Place to a grim scene. There, they discovered the body of 22-year-old Marcelle Preston, a male resident of the home, lying outside with gunshot wounds. He was pronounced dead at the scene.
