In the quiet, pre-dawn hours of a Tuesday in Oxon Hill, Maryland, the life of a young man was tragically cut short. Ravond Simms, a 24-year-old male from Southwest Washington, D.C., was found lying on a sidewalk in the 5200 block of Kenmont Road on May 7, 2019. Responding to a report of a shooting around midnight, patrol officers discovered Simms suffering from gunshot wounds. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, but his injuries proved fatal, and he was pronounced dead.
