In the winter of 2019, a wellness check call to Baltimore police led to the somber discovery of 50-year-old Dannette Sheppard's body in her home in the 1200 block of East Belvedere Avenue in Northeast Baltimore. On Thursday, December 19, 2019, officers entered the residence to find Ms. Sheppard unresponsive, having sustained gunshot wounds.
Emergency medical personnel were summoned to the scene, but it was too late; Dannette Sheppard was pronounced dead at her home.
The Baltimore Police Department's homicide unit is investigating the case and has appealed to the public for any information that might lead to the apprehension of the person or persons responsible for her death.
To date, no arrests have been publicly announced, and no suspects have been officially named in connection with the fatal shooting. The investigation into the death of Dannette Sheppard remains ongoing.
