On an afternoon in early spring, the quiet of a District Heights, Maryland neighborhood was shattered by the sound of gunfire. On April 9, 2020, at approximately 5:10 p.m., patrol officers were dispatched to the 1700 block of Berry Lane following a report of a shooting. Upon arrival, they discovered 23-year-old Jawuan Ingram, a male resident of Landover, outside suffering from a gunshot wound. Tragically, his injuries were severe, and he was pronounced dead at the scene.
