In the early morning hours of August 16, 2020, the life of Thurman Gilliam was tragically cut short. The 24-year-old Black male was found shot to death at approximately 4:49 a.m. in the 4900 block of Goodnow Road in Northeast Baltimore. When police and paramedics arrived at the scene, they discovered Mr. Gilliam had sustained fatal gunshot wounds and he was pronounced dead at the location.
Born on March 10, 1996, to the late Charles Gilliam and Thomasine Rhone, Thurman was a lifelong
Baltimore resident who had been educated in the city's public school system. Known for his love of family, he was particularly close to his mother and cherished his nephews. Friends and family remember him as a man with a good heart who could strike up a conversation with anyone. He was a devoted family man and a true friend who enjoyed listening to music and spending time with his fiancée, Diamond.
The investigation into Thurman Gilliam's homicide was launched by the Baltimore Police Department, joining a tragically high number of gun violence cases in the city that year. Despite the ongoing efforts of homicide detectives, there have been no arrests made in connection with his murder, and no suspects have been publicly identified.
