In the early morning hours of September 11, 2020, the life of 21-year-old Deandre Clark, a Black/African American male, was tragically cut short in Clinton, Maryland. At approximately 1:10 a.m., officers from the Prince George's County Police Department responded to a call for a shooting in the 6700 block of Danford Drive. Upon arrival, they discovered Clark inside a residence, suffering from multiple gunshot wounds.
Despite the efforts of emergency responders, he was pronounced dead at the scene.
Investigators with the Homicide Unit promptly began an inquiry into the circumstances surrounding the fatal shooting. Preliminarily, detectives announced that they did not believe the incident was a random act of violence, suggesting that Clark may have been targeted. His death was part of a violent night in Prince George's County, with two other homicides occurring within a four-hour span, raising concerns about gun violence in the community.
As the investigation continues, authorities have not publicly identified any suspects or determined a motive for the shooting. The Prince George's County Police Department has urged anyone with information to come forward and has offered a reward of up to $25,000 for details that lead to an arrest and indictment in the case.
